Vivekananda House

 ചെന്നൈയിലെ വിവേകാനന്ദ ഹൗസ് സന്ദർശിക്കാൻ എനിക്ക് അവസരം ലഭിച്ചു. ഈ സ്ഥലം മറീന ബീച്ചിന് അടുത്താണ്. 1897 -ൽ സ്വാമി വിവേകാനന്ദൻ താമസിച്ചിരുന്ന സ്ഥലമാണിത്, പിന്നീട് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ബഹുമാനാർത്ഥം പേരുമാറ്റി. പണ്ട് ഈ സ്ഥലം ഒരു Ice house ആയിരുന്നു. 1842 ൽ അമേരിക്കയിൽ നിന്ന് ഒരു വ്യാപാര വസ്തുവായി കൊണ്ടുവന്ന ഐസ് സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നതിനാണ് ഇത് നിർമ്മിച്ചത്.

ഈ സ്ഥലം ഇപ്പോൾ ഒരു മ്യൂസിയമാണ്. സ്വാമി വിവേകാനന്ദന്റെ ജീവിതത്തിന്റെ പല ഘട്ടങ്ങളും പെയിന്റിംഗുകൾ, രചനകൾ, ചില വസ്തുവകകൾ എന്നിവയുടെ രൂപത്തിൽ പ്രദർശിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. അദ്ദേഹം ധ്യാനിച്ചിരുന്ന ധ്യാനമണ്ഡപത്തിലേക്ക് ഞാൻ പോയി. ഞാൻ കുറച്ചു നേരം അവിടെ ഇരുന്നു. ഈ സ്ഥലത്ത് എനിക്ക് അനുകൂലമായ അന്തരീക്ഷം അനുഭവപ്പെട്ടു. തീർച്ചയായും സ്വാമി വിവേകാനന്ദൻ ഒരു മികച്ച വ്യക്തിത്വമായിരുന്നു. അദ്ദേഹം ഒരു സന്യാസി, തത്ത്വചിന്തകൻ, ആത്മീയ വ്യക്തി എന്നിവയായിരുന്നു. ഹിന്ദുമതത്തിന്റെ പുനരുജ്ജീവനത്തിനായി അദ്ദേഹം പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു. അദ്ദേഹം ജാതിവ്യവസ്ഥയ്ക്ക് എതിരായിരുന്നു. കൂടാതെ, ആളുകൾക്കിടയിലെ ഐക്യത്തിനായി അദ്ദേഹം പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു.
ആ മ്യൂസിയത്തിൽ തന്നെ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ മഹത്തായ ചരിത്രം പ്രദർശിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. മഹാഭാരതം, രാമായണം, ഭഗവത് ഗീത, പുരാണങ്ങൾ, വേദങ്ങൾ, Sangam സാഹിത്യം മുതലായവയുടെ മഹത്വം നമുക്ക് കാണാൻ കഴിയും, കൂടാതെ കാളിദാസൻ, ആര്യഭട്ടൻ മുതലായവയിൽ നിന്നുള്ള മഹത്തായ സംഭാവനകൾ കലയുടെയും എഴുത്തിന്റെയും രൂപങ്ങളിൽ കാണാം. ഇന്ത്യൻ ഭൂതകാലത്തിന്റെയും സംസ്കാരത്തിന്റെയും മഹത്വം ഇവിടെ നിന്ന് അനുഭവിക്കാൻ കഴിയും.

I got a chance to visit Vivekananda House in Chennai. This place is close to Marina Beach. This is the place were Swami Vivekananda stayed in 1897, and it was later renamed in his honour. In past, it was an ice house. It was built in 1842 to store ice brought as a trade commodity from America.
This place is now a museum. Very stages of Swami Vivekananda’s life is displayed in form of paintings, writings and some of his belongings. I went to the meditation hall where he used to meditate. I sat there for a while. I felt positive atmosphere in this place. Indeed Swami Vivekananda was a great personality. He was a monk, philosopher and a spiritual man. He worked for the revival of Hinduism. He was against caste system. Also he worked for the unity among people.
In that museum itself, the great history of India is displayed. We can see greatness of Mahabharata, Ramayana, Bhagavat Gita, Puranas, Vedas, Sangam literature etc. Also the great contributions from Kalidasa, Arysbhatta and so on in the forms of art and writings. The greatness of Indian past and culture can be felt from here.
It’s a good place to visit.
