Beasant Nagar Beach

 

ഞാൻ ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ഏറ്റവും വൃത്തിയുള്ള ഒരു ബീച്ചായ Besant Nagar ബീച്ച് അഥവാ Edward Elliot Beach സന്ദർശിച്ചു. അടയാറിലാണ് ബീച്ച്. എന്റെ കോളേജിൽ നിന്ന് ഏകദേശം 12 കിലോമീറ്റർ ദൂരമുണ്ട്. ഈ കടൽത്തീരത്തിന്റെ പ്രസിദ്ധമായ Land Mark Karl Schmidt സ്മാരകമാണ്. 1930 -ൽ ഒരു പെൺകുട്ടിയുടെ ജീവൻ രക്ഷിക്കാൻ ശ്രമിച്ച ഡച്ച് നാവികനെ സ്മരിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള ഒരു വാസ്തുവിദ്യാ സ്മാരകമാണ് സ്മാരകം. ഷ്മിഡിന്റെ ധീരമായ പ്രവൃത്തി അടയാളപ്പെടുത്താൻ അന്നത്തെ ഗവർണർ സ്മാരകം നിർമ്മിച്ചു.

ഈ സ്ഥലം മലയാളികളുടെ പ്രിയപ്പെട്ട ഇടം കൂടിയാണ്. ‘നാടോടിക്കാട്ട്’ എന്ന സിനിമയിൽ, ദാസനും വിജയനും എന്ന കഥാപാത്രങ്ങൾ ഇവിടെ എത്തി, ഇത് ഒരു ഗൾഫ് രാജ്യമാണെന്ന് കരുതി.

 ഇപ്പോൾ ആളുകൾ സ്മാരകത്തോട് അനാദരവ് കാണിക്കുന്നു. അവർ തോന്നുന്നത് അതിൽ എഴുതുന്നു. ചരിത്രം അറിയാത്തതിന്റെ പ്രശ്നമാണിത്. ആളുകൾക്ക് ചരിത്രബോധം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കണം. നമ്മൾ അവയെ ബഹുമാനിക്കുകയും സംരക്ഷിക്കുകയും വേണം.

ഈ ബീച്ച് വളരെ മനോഹരമാണ്. നല്ല അന്തരീക്ഷവും നൽകുന്നു.

I visited one of the cleanest beach in India, Beasant Nagar Beach or Edward Elliot Beach. The beach is in Adayar. It is about 12 kms away from my college. The famous landmark of this beach is the Karl Schmidt Memorial. The memorial is an architectural landmark commemorating a Dutch sailor who drowned in 1930 trying to save the life of a girl. The then governor built the memorial to mark Schmidt's gallant act.

This place is also Malayalis favourite spot. In the epic movie ‘Nadodikattu’, the characters Dasan and Vijayan landed up here and thought that this is a Gulf country.

 Now a day’s people are disrespecting the memorial. They write whatever that want. This is the problem of not knowing history. People should have historic sense. We need to respect and conserve them.

This beach is very beautiful. Also gives a positive atmosphere.
